Major broadcasters SBS, Network 10, the ABC, Sky News Australia and Sky News UK have all had to go off air following a tech issue leaving their daily schedule to be abandoned.

In the UK this morning viewers were left with a static message apologising for the “disruption” to the service at 6am when broadcasting was meant to begin.

Whilst the presenters remained off-air, the channel continued to play stock footage for early-morning viewers to watch, before changing to the apology screen.

It read: “We apologise for the interruption to this broadcast. We hope to restore the transmission of Sky News shortly.”

Presenter Jacquie Beltrao issued a short message on X to fans waiting to tune into the show and stated: “We’re obviously not on air – we’re trying @SkyNews Breakfast.” (sic)

ABC News staff member Andy Park shared an image of his blank computer screen and captioned the post: “Meanwhile at the ABC. Is your #microsoft down too?”

The tech outage has also led to some travel chaos for airlines and passengers who are attempting to board flights, leaving them unable to check in due to technical issues.

American Airlines was forced to ground some flights this morning and issued a ground stop for all its flights which are due to leave after experiencing a communication issue, according to the U.S. Federal Aviation Administration’s status page.

Daily viewers of the show were left annoyed at the inconvenience and took to their X accounts to express their views, leaving one to note: “We need our Sky News morning fix lol! BBC news too dry!”

Tried turning it off and back on again?” one viewer joked before another added: “So weird waking up and no Sky News ., hope you are back soon.. missing you .. Not keen on BBC too stuff.”

Someone else begged: “Oh please! Get it sorted I’m on to my second hour of Miss Rachel.”

“I was wondering what was going on. Hopefully you’ll be on shortly,” a fifth penned before a sixth said: “Standards are slipping. Scruffy.” (sic)

Frontier Airlines, a unit of Frontier Group Holdings, Allegiant and SunCountry had reported outages that affected operations before the TV viewers were notified.

According to the MailOnline, Frontier said earlier that a “major Microsoft technical outage” hit its operations temporarily, while SunCountry said a third-party vendor affected its booking and check-in facilities.
