Six people were injured after a double-decker bus crashed into scaffolding in west London.

The bus, carrying passengers, ended up well off the road after it drove into a commercial building clad in scaffolding in Maida Vale.

The crash took place shortly before 2.30pm on Tuesday, and left six people, including the bus driver, injured.

None of the injuries were thought to be serious and they all were said to have been treated at the scene by medics.

Images from the scene showed the bus having almost fully mounted the pavement and slammed into the building.

Scaffolding was bent and signs broken out the front of the West Nine Food & Wine shop.

The Metropolitan Police and London Ambulance Service were called to the scene of the crash, which involved a number 18 bus.

Police said that road closures and safety cordons were in place in the area and no arrests have been made.

They appealed for any witnesses to contact them.
