Andy Murray has been ruled out of Wimbledon this summer, having originally planned to make a final farewell appearance at the competition.
The 37-year-old injured his back during his match against Jordan Thompson at Queens on Wednesday.
The Telegraph reported Murray is now set to miss Wimbledon after having an operation on a spinal cyst.
And that’s now been confirmed by the ATP Tour on X with a short statement that read: “After an operation on a spinal cyst, Andy Murray is sadly out of Wimbledon…

“Rest up and recover Andy, we’ll miss seeing you there.”
It is currently unclear if Murray will be able to play for Team GB at the Paris Olympics this summer.
A statement from his manager on Friday said: “Andy is having a procedure on his back tomorrow [Saturday].
“We will know more after this has taken place and will update further as soon as possible.”
Earlier this week, Murray had to receive treatment after just three games during his match with Thompson.
