Rock legend Sir Rod Stewart recently shared a romantic anniversary photo with wife Penny Lancaster as he celebrated 17 years of their marriage.
The Maggie May hitmaker, 79, reposted a sweet snap on his Instagram stories of himself and Lancaster, 53, on their 17th wedding anniversary.
According to Express, the caption over the photo read: “Celebrating 17 years of love,” and showed the singer crouched behind his wife, who was seated in a chair.
The couple tied the know on June 16, 2007, and Stewart himself added on the snap: “25 years together and no red flags.”
The photo had initially been posted by their son Alistair’s girlfriend Eloise Darlington, so it seems the family had been out to celebrate the milestone.
The couple first met in 1999 after Stewart split from ex-wife Rachel Hunter.

Recalling their first interaction, Stewart told PEOPLE in 2021: “Rachel broke up with me on a Monday evening, and it was heartbreaking. No one leaves Rod!
“But that Saturday night, I met Penny at the Dorchester Hotel in London. The bass player in my band, Carmine, said, ‘Listen, you’ve just come out of a long nine-year marriage. You’re not ready yet.’
“I nearly strangled him! Six months later, he gave me her phone number and she came over. She has mended my heart in more ways than one.”
The rocker remains popular with fans but made headlines this week for being booed during a concert.

Whilst singing the hit, photos of Ukraine’s President Volodymyr Zelenskyy were shown as well as the Ukrainian flag, which soon promoted boos and jeering from the audience.
As videos of the moment were quickly circulated on X, many fans of the star were left confused and divided by his decision, as one user commented: “That’s why don’t mix politics with entertainment.”
