Cold temperatures in the UK have been forecast to fade over the coming days as mercury surges to 20C on Saturday.

Norwich could witness temperatures hit 20C over the weekend, with other parts of England also seeing mercury teeter towards recent highs.


London will also experience warmer weather, with the Met Office suggesting mercury could soar to 18C.

Wales’ warmest weather will hit Cardiff and Newtown, with similar temperatures forecast for Edinburgh.

Northern Ireland remains slightly cooler as 13C has been forecast for Belfast and Londonderry.

The Met Office is forecasting a warm weekend across the UK just days after cooler conditions were experienced all over Britain.

Low pressure ensured temperatures were somewhat chillier as showers continued to batter Britain.

The UK’s national weather service’s forecast between Friday and Saturday said: “Spells of rain and showers continuing over the coming days and becoming increasingly windy.

However, wet weather will remain a problem for much of the country for the remainder of the week.

England’s Environment Agency has issued a number of flood alerts and warnings today.

Two flood warnings have been put out for Till and Wylye Valley.

Both warnings mean flooding is expected in the area.

A further 90 flood alerts were also issued across England.

The Met Office is also forecasting for mild temperatures today and tomorrow.

London could see temperatures reach 14C at points today and will face a further rise to 15C on April 4.
