TWICE‘S “I Got You” has topped this week’s new music poll.
Music fans voted in a poll published Friday (Feb. 2) on Billboard, choosing the K-pop group’s fun new single as their favorite new music release of the past week.
“I Got You” brought in 84% of the vote, beating out new music by Keith Urban (“Straight Line”), Billy Joel (“Turn the Lights Back On”), Usher featuring Pheelz (“Ruin”), Don Toliver (“Bandit”), and others.
“I Got You” is the latest track from TWICE’S 13th mini-album, WITH YOU-th, which is scheduled for release on Feb. 13. The propulsive, dizzyingly song builds upon the success of the nine-member group’s previous English-language singles by highlighting the their melodic strengths and doubling down on the snappiest parts of the synth-pop production, creating a flash point that could cross over to U.S. platforms in a big way.
The high-energy tribute to friendship is the follow-up to TWICE’s previous track “The Feels,” which landed the collective’s debut entry on the Billboard Hot 100 (No. 83) and “Moonlight Sunrise” (No. 84).
The JYP Entertainment group is in the midst of their Ready To Be world tour, which visits Allianz Parque in Sao Paulo on Feb. 6-7, and then plays Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas on March 16.
Trailing behind “Selfish” on the poll is Urban’s new song “Straight Line,” which brought in 8% of the vote. The first track from country veteran’s next studio album takes his time-honored formula and injects some adrenaline, with a driving tempo and some choice wooooooo-hoo’s in the post-chorus.
