Liverpool star Conor Bradley is mourning the death of his father, who sadly passed away after battling a serious illness.

Joe Bradley, 58, is said to have passed away at his home in Tyrone, Northern Ireland on Saturday morning.

The Liverpool star’s father is understood to have been battling an illness for some time.

Liverpool released a statement which read: “Liverpool FC is deeply saddened by the death of Conor Bradley’s father, Joe, today.

“The thoughts of everybody at the club are with Conor and all of the Bradley family at this very difficult and sad time.

“On behalf of Conor, LFC strongly urges that the family’s privacy is fully respected at this time.”

The news of Bradley’s father’s death comes just days after the full-back put in a man-of-the-match display in Liverpool’s thumping win over Chelsea.

Bradley marked the performance with his first Liverpool goal as well as providing two assists.

The defender was given a standing ovation from the Anfield crowd when he was subbed off towards the end of the match.

Bradley faced a crossroads in his career last summer after a hugely impressive loan spell at Bolton, where he scooped up three end-of-season awards.

Liverpool were being linked with signing another right-back in the transfer market to come in as cover for Trent Alexander-Arnold.

But Klopp trusted Bradley to make the step up when needed and the Liverpool manager has been rewarded for showing faith in the 20-year-old.

“What a wonderful kid he is,” Klopp said this week.”Outstanding finish, the whole game, the contribution, the involvement. It’s a job to play against [Raheem] Sterling, that’s not easy. I’m really happy for him.”He’s a very serious young man and that was pretty special I have to say. We saw in pre-season. He is really doing well.

“A few weeks ago when I was on holiday a few Bolton fans asked if they could have Bradley back but it’s too late!”

Bradley had been in contention to keep his place in the starting line-up for Liverpool’s trip to Arsenal on Sunday.

It’s being reported that Liverpool will leave it up to the player on whether he wants to be involved in the game.
